What You’ll Do:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Front End / UI Developer Intern to join our development team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in web development, learn new technologies, and contribute to real-world projects in a collaborative environment.

As a Front End / UI Developer Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience by:

  • Practical experience in front-end and basic back-end web development.

  • Exposure to real-world software development practices, including code reviews and team collaboration.

  • Opportunities to learn about JavaScript frameworks, AWS, and database management.

  • Mentorship and guidance from experienced developers.

  • Experience contributing to meaningful projects and building your portfolio.

What You Bring:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Understanding of basic programming concepts, such as variables, loops, and conditionals.

  • Basic knowledge of any programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python).

  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies with adaptability to different aspects of web development.

  • Passion for technology and demonstrated interest outside the classroom.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to commit to a hybrid, 40-hour workweek, with occasional onsite visits to our Durham campus.

  • A passion for learning, curiosity, and openness to feedback to grow professionally.

Compensation:

Undergraduates: Rising Sophomore: $18.00/hr 

Undergraduates: Rising Junior/Senior:  $21.00/hr 

Returning Interns: $23.00/hr 

Master’s Students/JD: $27.00/hr  

MBA Students/PharmD: $36.00/hr  

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets,  licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs.
