About the Opportunity
De Rigo REM, a leader in the design and distribution of fashion eyewear, located in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, is seeking an on-site, advanced level, Credit and Collections Specialist.

The ideal Collections Specialist will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience as a Collector. In addition, this individual must be organized, detail oriented, have superb communication skills, and the ability to work in a busy, multi-faceted environment. The right candidate must have be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Experience in SAP and beginning accounting / 2 years college education is highly preferred

Reporting to the Credit and Collections Manager this position will perform the following duties:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Collect balances on past due accounts
Process customer payments and post accordingly
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies
Reconcile bank records
Run Aging reports and distribute to sales reps
Setting up new customer accounts, accurately and timely securing appropriate credit, sales tax, and other necessary information to approve new accounts so customer orders can be immediately processed
Provide prompt, high quality of customer service to all serviced (sales reps, internal Rem team members, customers, etc.)
Complete various projects as assigned by management

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Minimum Requirement –

Required –advanced collections experience 3 to 5 years
SAP experience a big plus
Preferred –some accounting / 2 years college education
Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook;
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills;
Must follow up on pending issues and must be able to multi-task in a fast paste environment.
Must be a team player with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Communicate clearly with direct manager, upper management, department heads, team members, and co-workers in a customer service-friendly manner.
Must be hands on, flexible, and able to manage multiple assignments, priorities and able to work independently with moderate supervision

Success Factors

Readily draw from experience and apply to situation at hand and suggest ideas to streamline processes
Able to multi-task and shift priorities/projects as required by management

Physical and/or Mental Demands:

Working extended hours when requested/required for seasonal, month-end/year-end close, inventory, budgeting
Ability to sit for long durations
Occasionally lifting a file box if needed for archiving
Ability to switch projects and take on new responsibilities with little or no notice
