Job Description:

We are seeking a Lead, Quality Engineer to join the Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment. This individual will report to the Head of Supplier Quality, and provide Quality Engineering support for various projects spanning both Missiles and Space Sectors.

Acting as a central point of communication, ensuring that all team members are aligned with project goals, timelines, and budgets; this Lead QE will ensure that AR has a process for and is capable of providing technical manufacturing, operational and technical Quality Engineering support to our suppliers.

Essential Functions:​

  • Establish a Segment Wide process to incorporate Manufacturing assessments of new suppliers and/or critical procurements. Lead from the front and be capable of providing expertise in various manufacturing processes while setting up the process.
  • Leverage direct manufacturing experience to develop suppliers and ensure new and existing suppliers are capable of meeting contract requirements. Support the new supplier selection process, providing technical input and expertise.
  • Interface with adjacent Centers of Excellence to ensure the technical resources exist and are available to support the supply base. This includes all technical support such as Manufacturing, Scheduling and Quality.
  • Position requires approximatley 50% domestic travel.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant Quality experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related Quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related Quality experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:​

  • Direct Manufacturing and Operational experience in one or more of the following areas: Machining, Composites, Valves, Special Processes, Finishing, etc
  • Experience working for a DoD government contractor
  • Project management experience
  • CQE, PMP and other certifications preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a close-knit team environment; highly motivated team player
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to a variety of situation
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work self-reliantly
  • Experience consistently meeting deadline commitments

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $114,000 - $212,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $99,500 - $184,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
