Summary/Objective:

The graphic artist designs and prepares artwork for production according to specs requested.

Essential Functions

-Demonstrates command of Adobe programs.

-Demonstrates understanding and use of design principles, proportions, scaling and colors.

-Creates and designs art based on client information/products.

-Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arranges layout based on available space and design concepts.

-Creates and maintains promotional images for customers and inside sales team.

-Completes all tasks within expected deadlines.

-Able to proofread to produce accurate and high-quality work.

-Keep abreast of latest software and computer technologies to remain competitive.

-Ability to generate accurate proof art & positives for screen printing and/or generate accurate proof art & digital files for digital printing.

-Knowledge of Lowen graphic manufacturing functions and how they relate to art set up.

-Basic working knowledge of a Job Traveler (JT)

-Basic working knowledge of procedures/processes for prepress art production storage, file naming and job notes.

-Basic working knowledge of the Lowen computer systems for artwork storage and retrieval.

-Performs other related duties and assignments as needed.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, digital camera and fax machines.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to sit, talk and hear. Must be able to sit and work on a computer for at least 8 hours per day, using a keyboard and mouse.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work.

This is a full time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours will be required to satisfy customer deadlines.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position

Required Education and Experience

-High school diploma or equivalent

-Associate degree in a related field of study.

-Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop & InDesign.
