Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis and data science activities using SQL and Python.
  • Develop high-quality datasets, products, and deliverables in a ticket-driven work management system.
  • Research, develop, and maintain automation solutions for custom data products.
  • Author and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of analytical approaches and products.

  • Advocate for and advise on data management best practices on projects and initiatives.
  • Assist leadership with budget development and resource planning.
  • Analyze utility system performance and provide insights and data-driven decision-making tools to leadership.
  • Prepare complex rate and financial reports and respond to requests for rate and financial information.
  • Provide analytical support for utility development activities that request subsidies, cost sharing, or other service agreements.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting by collaborating with finance and accounting personnel.
  • Serve in an advisory role in various internal and external meetings, including vendor/client negotiations on contracts.
  • Plan and perform business analysis tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in math, science, or related field, or any combination of related experience or education to meet the minimum qualifications.
  • Knowledge of water utility operations, treatment, and supply.
  • Knowledge of water treatment and transmission capital projects.
  • Knowledge of impact fee development/tracking.
  • Knowledge of regulations related to TCEQ and TWDB.
  • Knowledge of cost-of-service/cost allocation methods.
  • Skill in SQL and Python.
  • Skill in Microsoft Power BI.
  • Skill in requirements elicitation and technical writing.

Nice-to-haves
