About the position

As an intern in systems engineering, you will be part of a team that leverages innovative technologies to solve complex problems across various domains. As a systems engineering intern, you will engage in projects that require the application of digital and model-based engineering, mission and system of systems engineering, AI-enabled systems engineering, and agile systems engineering. You will also have the chance to explore areas such as systems security engineering, mechanical engineering, structural analysis, thermal dynamics, and aerospace engineering. This internship is designed to help you develop your skills and knowledge while contributing to meaningful work that makes a difference in the world. We are looking for students who are passionate about engineering and eager to learn. You will be expected to work independently and collaboratively, applying your academic knowledge to real-world challenges. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must be a full-time student pursuing an accredited degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
  • Knowledge of systems, mechanical, or aerospace engineering theory is required.
  • Sustained excellence in academic performance is necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience applying systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or mechanical engineering in an internship or research/lab position.
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo Enterprise Architecture, Rhapsody, Stella, iThink, Anylogic, or Systemitool.
  • Proven ability to work independently and learn new engineering technologies and techniques.
  • Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and/or Unified Modeling Language (UML).
  • Experience with Digital Engineering and Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience with prototype design and CAD.
