We’re a growing criminal defense law firm that believes legal support should be accessible, clear, and compassionate. We help real people with real problems—and we’re looking for a Legal Assistant to join our team. Fluency in Spanish is a huge plus.

Job Summary

As our Legal Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting attorneys and clients. You’ll help manage case files, prepare legal documents, coordinate schedules, and serve as a point of contact for clients—many of whom are facing serious and stressful situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and route incoming calls in a friendly, professional manner
  • Manage attorney calendars and court deadlines
  • Assist in preparing for client meetings, hearings, and trials
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical client files
  • Provide regular updates to clients regarding their cases
  • Conduct basic legal research and assist with discovery
  • Support attorneys with general administrative tasks
  • Handle front desk/reception duties when needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new software
  • Professionalism, sound judgment, and a team-first attitude

Preferred:

  • Fluency in Spanish is a huge plus
  • Prior experience in a legal setting, especially criminal defense
  • Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds
