Together.</span></p><p></p><p></p><p></p>The Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day payroll processing functions and supporting 2,000 employees in a multi-state environment. This position reports to the Payroll Director and involves reviewing timecards for reasonableness and compliance with policies and procedures, submission of accurate information to the Company’s payroll processing partner, maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and providing support for payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and independent, have strong attention to detail, an understanding of Workday, and the ability to work with confidential information<p></p><p></p><p><u><span>General Duties/Responsibilities (May include but are not limited to):</span></u></p><ul><li>Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements. </li><li>Perform detailed reviews and audits of payroll registers and related reports to ensure that the payroll information submitted for payroll processing is accurate.</li><li>Review timecards for reasonableness and compliance with company policy and legal requirements.</li><li>Reconcile enterprise state and federal tax filings</li><li>Processes equity settlements from E*TRADE to Workday.</li><li>Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with other organizational systems.</li><li>Assist with ensuring compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and other applicable laws related to payroll are implemented and followed.</li><li>Implement and ensure standard reports are used as tools in the payroll processing function to improve efficiency, including as part of timecard review.</li><li>Perform reconciliations of timecards to various upload files.</li><li>Assist in implementing and improving payroll processes and systems for greater efficiency.</li><li>Assist team members with various tasks and responsibilities as assigned.</li></ul><p><u><span>Job Requirements:</span></u></p><p><u><span>Experience:</span></u></p><p><span>Required:</span></p><ul><li>3+ years of experience in multi-state payroll environment and supporting a remote workforce payroll.</li><li>Proficiency in payroll software and systems –Must have a general understanding of payroll rules and regulations.</li><li>Highly experienced in processing multi-state tax forms</li></ul><div></div><p>Preferred Experience: Workday</p><p></p><p><u>Education/Licensure:</u></p><p>Required:</p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED</li><li>Certification in Payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional – CPP or Fundamentals of Payroll Concepts - FPC).</li></ul><p></p><p>Preferred:</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field</li><li>Will consider significant relevant experience performing payroll in large organization in lieu of a college degree.</li></ul><p></p><p>Other Skills and Requirements:</p><ul><li>Willing to work overtime and during off hours during payroll processing weeks and on an as needed basis.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and creating and using pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.</li><li>Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax laws, and relevant regulations.</li><li>Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and the ability</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.</li><li>Efficient working style with strict adherence to deadlines.</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.</li></ul><div></div><p></p><p><u>Essential Physical Functions:</u></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><p></p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
