PR Manager, Latin-Iberia , Amazon Music and Wondery ID-1099

Amazon is seeking a highly-creative, self-motivated and high-judgement PR professional with a depth of experience and/or interest in audio entertainment and storytelling to join the Amazon communications team to manage Amazon Music and Wondery businesses and content for Latin-Iberia. The person in this role will work with Amazon Music's global PR team to plan and execute publicity campaigns for the streaming service and for the leading podcast studio across the US, Spain, and for countries in Latin America. The ideal candidate will have industry media relationships and experience managing multiple agencies and contractors internationally.

This role will report to the Head of Global PR for Amazon Music.


The candidate should demonstrate a proven track record for managing effective consumer campaigns for large, fast-moving organizations, including delivering earned media, social media, and influencer relations activity. They will have a deep understanding of the earned and digital media landscape for US Latin and the Latin-Iberia region, be passionate about their craft, be an excellent writer, and have an ambition to do great, meaningful work. The successful candidate will be an outstanding communicator who can collaborate closely with teams throughout the Amazon Music and Wondery businesses, as well as with stakeholders outside the business including media, influencers, creators, and agency partners. They should enjoy working in a fast-paced, start-up culture, and will have experience in either an agency or in-house role.

Key job responsibilities

Develop and manage strategic public relations programs that drive awareness of Amazon Music and Wondery businesses and content for US Latin, Latin America, and Spain

Develop and manage integrated PR campaigns around key content launches

Write campaign plans, messaging, and media-facing materials

Build relations with key media, and be able to pitch and secure top tier coverage

Deliver counsel to internal executives on PR challenges and opportunities

Work closely with agencies, contractors, and wider international teams to devise and implement PR activity

Work closely with internal teams across the business to deliver projects to deadline

Successfully manage fast-moving, complex PR challenges from both the business and the media

Remain aware of the latest news in the entertainment and digital audio space.

Support with issues management and crisis comms related to the region

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience

- Bachelor's degree

- Experience working in Consumer PR and issues management

- Experience working with external agencies

- Spanish and English (professional level)

- Ability to travel internationally

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- A love of podcasts, entertainment, music and technology

- Proven ability to partner with teammates located around the world

- A feel for what works for a brand

- A strategic thinker, ensuring that PR activity delivers against business objectives and articulates key messages

- A collaborative team player with a willingness to work hard and roll up sleeves to get the job done

- A strong bias for action but maintains exceptionally high standards on the work and the results

- Tactically aware: knowledgeable about what's going on in the media and with the brand, and able to marry the two for maximum PR benefit

- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while managing essential work

- A proven leader, able to inspire agencies to deliver and demonstrate responsibility to senior managers

- Social and influencer minded: able to build integrated campaigns that leverage new and emerging digital media including social and influencers

- Solid judgment and the ability to respond quickly, yet thoughtfully, to urgent PR matters.
