Full-time Medical Assistant - remote position (work from home - USA based) ID-1631

Lara Health is currently in search of an experienced Medical Assistant for our virtual patient care program. You will be joining a wonderful team of lovely MAs and nurses who provide preventative care and support to patients between their doctor visits. This is a full-time position (min 30 hours a week). Must be US territory based.

COMPENSATION: $20/hour plus performance bonuses, contract

THIS IS A FULLY REMOTE POSITION (WORK FROM HOME) WITH SOME FLEXIBILITY ON THE WORKING HOURS. MIN 5 YEAR EXPERIENCE IN CARING FOR CHRONIC CONDITION PATIENTS IS REQUIRED (PREFERABLY IN PRIMARY CARE/DIABETES/CARDIOLOGY).

Join us for the chance to be part of an amazing team and a great place to work! The Medical Assistant supports providers with ongoing patient monitoring and chronic care management, with the following duties:

  1. Responsible for monitoring patient blood pressure, blood sugar, and other vitals, helping them with meds, MD visits, etc.
  2. Communicate with patients on a regular basis, helping them make lifestyle changes in order to improve their long-term health.
  3. Maintain patient electronic medical record (EMR).
  4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific skills and experience required:

  1. Passion for working with (older) patients, customer service skills.
  2. Min 5 years experience as MA or nurse.
  3. Preventative patient care background preferred, experience in primary care, cardiology or diabetes clinic highly desired.
  4. Work independently and with a team.
  5. Organizational and time management skills.
  6. Computer skills appropriate to position, you will need your own computer and a reliable internet service.
  7. Written and verbal communication skills, administrative and clerical skills, critical thinking.
  8. Medical terminology use and understanding.

Certification & Licensure mandatory:

  1. Approved Medical Assistant Certification required.
  2. Or EMT (Emergency Medical Technician).
  3. Or NREMT (Nationally Recognized Emergency Medical Technician).
  4. Or Paramedic.
  5. Or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse).

Education:

  1. Required High School or Equivalent.
  2. Preferred Technical Medical Assistant.

This position would be ideal for someone looking to work intensively with patients and who is well organized and able to commit to a min 30 hours a week. Most of your work is phone-based, talking to patients during the day, so you need to be very communicative, with a suitable place to work.
