Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry partners to drive collaboration and growth within the payments industry. Serve as a key point of contact for industry partners, representing Discover Financial Services and promoting our brand and offerings. Monitor industry trends, regulations, and developments to identify potential opportunities and risks for the company. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic plans for industry relations that align with company goals. Lead and mentor a team of industry relations professionals to achieve departmental objectives and foster a culture of excellence. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the payments landscape, including emerging technologies, competitors, and market trends. Work closely with internal stakeholders, including product, sales, and marketing teams, to drive innovation and growth within the payments division. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to build brand awareness and strengthen relationships. Analyze industry data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations to senior leadership. Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and compliance requirements to ensure all partnerships and initiatives are in line with regulatory standards. Act as a subject matter expert on payments industry trends and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership. Continuously assess and improve industry relations processes, policies, and strategies to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with other senior leaders to align industry relations goals with overall company objectives. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, partners, and industry organizations.
