OPPORTUNITY:
HEABC has an opportunity for a 6-month contract for an Associate, HCA (internal candidates only). Reporting to the Manager, HCA, the Associate, HCA provides specialized services to support the effective delivery of initiatives and projects aimed at increasing applications and registrations with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry (the Registry).
The position is responsible for supporting Health Care Assistants (HCAs) in their pursuit of registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry (the Registry). The Associate will also be responsible for overseeing the Access to Practical Nursing (APN) Education Bursary portfolio.
The Associate, HCA:
- Provides up-to-date, accurate information and expert advice to health care assistants on the registration process.
- Completes consultation calls with bursary applicants and prepares bursary agreements.
- Provides ongoing client service and support, including responding to queries, emails and phone calls. Takes initiative to update and monitor applicants’ progress and remains current with applicants.
- Enters and updates all relevant data within the internal applicant tracking databases.
- In consultation with Finance team, supports the processing of bursary applications in a timely and efficient manner.
- Prepares and analyzes statistical information for the HCA Career Consultant or Program Manager and other senior staff as required.
- Assists the HCA Career Consultant in planning, developing and delivering workshops (in person/via webinar) to broaden reach to prospective BC HCAs.
- Maintains effective working relationships with a variety of health sector partners such as Ministry representatives, and Post Secondary Institutions.
- Conducts relevant research for the HCA Career Consultant or Manager, as required.
- Maintains timely turnaround times for all assigned work.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- University degree related to Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Education and/or relevant clinical practice
- Minimum of three years’ recent related human resources, counselling, immigration, educational advising experience
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must consistently deliver exceptional client/customer service, communicating in a professional, friendly, and articulate manner.
- Ability to expertly manage demanding workloads and meet deadlines as required with minimal supervision.
- Must be team focused, supportive, and foster a positive work environment.
- Excellent English-language communication and interpersonal skills.
Previous knowledge and/or experience in a healthcare or administrative environment are preferred.

Salary Range: $62,239 to $89,469
Typical Hiring Range: $62,239 to $77,799
In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate’s skillset and experience as well as internal equity. The final salary offer will be at HEABC’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
