Job Summary:

Progressive Technology is seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSW), Developmental Support Workers (DSW), Health Care Assistants (HCA), and Nursing Students to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to clients in a variety of healthcare settings, ensuring they receive high-quality, personalized care. You will work directly with individuals in need, helping them live independently, and assisting with day-to-day activities in their homes or healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care services including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.

  • Support clients with activities of daily living such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship.

  • Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate records of care.

  • Monitor and document the clients physical and emotional well-being and report changes to the healthcare team.

  • Assist clients in maintaining their personal hygiene and grooming.

  • Provide emotional support and companionship, ensuring clients feel respected and valued.

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and health regulations as outlined by the employer and healthcare authorities.

  • Assist clients with transportation, appointments, and other essential tasks.

  • Provide respite care and support to family members of clients when needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW), Developmental Support Worker (DSW), Health Care Assistant (HCA), or currently enrolled in a Nursing program.

  • Strong understanding of the needs of individuals in care, including those with physical and mental health challenges.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A compassionate and patient attitude with a genuine desire to help others.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.

  • Basic first aid and CPR certification (preferred).

  • Valid drivers license (for positions requiring travel).

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a caregiving role is preferred, but not required.
