Blair Academy’s Department of Performing Arts has an immediate opening for a private voice teacher. This position will provide private voice lessons to students during the academic day, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday while school is in session. Candidates must be energetic and enthusiastic team players with a creative mindset. This position reports to the chair of the
performing arts department.

Duties & responsibilities:
  • Cultivate a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes creativity and self-expression.
  • Provide personalized voice lessons tailored to the specific needs and goals of individual students.
  • Guide students in developing fundamental skills and vocal techniques.
  • Encourage students to perform and share their music, enhancing their confidence and stage presence.
  • Adjust teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Assist students in preparing for performances, auditions and music assessments as needed.
  • Keep detailed records of student progress and maintain clear communication with the supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • A degree in vocal music or equivalent professional experience is required. Candidates who also possess keyboard experience are preferred.
  • A deep passion for music education.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Punctuality and the ability to effectively manage one's own schedule, ensuring timely arrival for lessons.
  • Flexibility to align with students’ scheduling needs.

Salary & other compensation:
Base pay range $65-$75 per lesson. Salary dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to education and experience.
