Amazon Web Services is seeking talented Systems Development Engineers to join our Region Reliability Engineering (RRE) team. Our mission is to ensure the seamless operation of AWS’s dedicated cloud regions through proactive reliability engineering, automation, and leading-edge solutions.

We seek individuals who bring a deep technical skill set in Development, Operations, Networking, and Systems Engineering, and who understand the Agile mindset and DevOps philosophies. A day in the life
On a typical day, you’ll work alongside our service engineers and preemptively resolve potential issues, drive automation efforts, and consult with leading technical experts within AWS. You’ll help build and operate high-performing systems that will be critical in reducing operational burden for other AWS Dedicated Cloud teams, enhancing regional reliability through scalability, innovation, and automation. You will help us reimagine and continuously improve reliability engineering.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 2+ years of systems administration experience (Linux/Windows or Networking)
  2. 2+ years of experience using debugging and systems analysis skills to be able to identify and quickly resolve/mitigate issues
  3. Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Excellent troubleshooting skills at all levels, from application to network to host
  2. 2+ years experience with cloud computing, systems administration, DevOps, site reliability engineering, software development, and/or network administration
  3. Experience working with at least one scripting or programming language
  4. Experience with the Linux command line interface
  5. In lieu of above relevant work experience, a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $152,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
