Trela is a rapidly growing startup (40% monthly growth) backed by major tech investors including Kaszek, SoftBank, General Catalyst, and Y Combinator. Our mission is to help people eat better by connecting them with the best food producers and brands in São Paulo through an innovative stockless supply chain that maximizes freshness and eliminates waste.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be part of a team working with Python and SQL in an almost entirely open-source platform, using Snowflake as the data warehouse. The data pipeline utilizes Apache Kafka for data ingestion, dbt for transformations, and Metabase for internal user consumption, all orchestrated by Dagster.

Working alongside our Senior Data Engineer, you'll have autonomy and responsibility for ensuring data availability in the raw layer within 5 minutes and supporting all company areas by creating gold tables according to their needs while guaranteeing quality and integrity.

- Reduce Dagster alerts by half
- Implement CI/CD for Dagster following software engineering best practices
- Centralize 5 main business rules used in company-wide metrics within a model managed by the data team
- Propose and implement data security and governance structure
Requirements For Sr Data Engineer
Python
Kafka
- Advanced SQL and Python
- Experience with orchestrators (Airflow, Dagster, etc) and Kafka
- Data modeling expertise
- Knowledge of Medallion Architecture
- Near real-time data processing experience
